So, I've been thinking about putting black strings on the new bass, for no other reason than effect...I have a set of DR Black Beauties but alas, they are rounds...I'd like to put flats on it.
It seems the only black flats that are available are nylon black tape wound strings which won't have the tone I'm looking for...from all I've read, they are more like a THUD with no highs to speak of (more like an upright sound).
I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any black flats out there (not nylon tape wound)...I've googled for them and all I can find are the nylons.
Mods.....I realized after posting this that it probably should've been placed in the strings forum...if that's a better place, feel free to move it...
