I would check the terms of the deal. I get those GC emails all the time with percentage points off, or $200 off if you spend so much. Often nearly every manufacturer has chosen to 'opt out'. You might be lucky, but its worth checking.

I just bought my son a guitar for Christmas. It is only a Sterling by Music Man SUB Silo3 but I was also able to use the 15% off coupon when I bought it for him. They also threw in a free gig bag too and matched Musicians Friend 15% off of free shipping and no tax. Probably on of the best deals I have ever got on a guitar. Now the problem is I have the guitar put away until Christmas but I have been wanting to play it like crazy. The little I did play it before putting it away, I was very impressed with it. With whatever Music Man guitar you do choose, you can't go wrong. I am yet to play a Music Man guitar or bass that I have not liked or has not been crafted well.

I've personally found out they only really hold apogee and mesa to this. Almost everything I've bought has had 15% off and alot of it has manufacturers that were participating.

frustration on new guitar selection

So, did you scored any MM?

well, no, could not decide. The luke was handed to me, and it just confused all my senses. Almost did the albert hh. Then the dude starts handing me the big prized boys, val relic -- yucky.. and on and on. Had to leave to try to clear my mind... than the girls were naggy naggy in the car... was not a good day to make a positive decision.
Sles dude states today is the only day for the discounts, well checked back on mon. and the sales deals were still on, so its just marketing ploys. Well, the luke and alberts r bright sounding, not too much meat, which is still good, it will cut thru a mix. Man oh man that rosewood neck on the luke is real sweet. A full body thick tone with that luke neck would be it, or meatier pickup swamps maybe do the trick ? Now that armada just may be another to consider ? , given its specs.. I never had such a difficult time deciding on a new guitar. What is wrong with me. Anyone else go through this frustrating process?

It can be a frustrating process for sure. There are also BFR versions of the Luke and Albert Lee which use different tonewoods, a mahagony block, and sometimes a maple cap. Good luck in your desicion.

Always call in your order. They will honor the 15% off on the phone or in the store regardless of brand.

I feel ya man, we all chase that "tone in our head" and it can be a process for sure. Though I have to say, when I noodled with the AL HH, it didn't sound bright at all, definitely more on the dark side. Can't say for the Luke, haven't played one.

I think the hardest part of guitar shopping is not being able to play the axe through the rig you have at home, which is why I've elected to just order them and see how they sound through my rig, but that also presents itself with its own issues.

Good luck on your search.

But be sure to try a reflex!

Way to confuse the guy even more - haha!

G.C. has a 30 day return policy...so you can buy one, try it at home on your rig for a few weeks, and if you're not happy, return it for a differrent ebmm model. Trust me, you'll find one you like.

The ebmm necks are just so amazing. This may sound corny, but I've never been more content to just play my guitar before. These necks seem to play themselves.
