Unless you're actually a collector, I don't get these things.

Now IF you're going to keep it pristine, in the case or in some hermetically sealed glass case, and IF Sterlings really seriously float your boat, or IF you plan on keeping it for 25 years without playing it and then selling it as a rare vintage piece in order to take one of those sexual vacations in Thailand.....then okay, I can see the extra bucks up front.

For what you paid for it, you got a great Sterling which may someday be collectable and in any case is a nice bass to actually play. I mean, that's what I'd do - play it.

It's like the Anniversary Stingrays. Pretty? Sure. But it's just a Stingray with a fancy-ass top. I'm not a collector, I'm a player, so the extra cash isn't worth it to me.....

Just thinking out loud. Good luck on selling it.

Well hell. At the price I'm willing to let it go for now, its the same as normal Sterlings are going for.

SOMEONE PLEASE BUY THIS! I'M GOING NUTZ!

You've got two bidders, and a day to go, so it should sell. Most bidding takes place in the last couple of hours. There might even be some snipes locked and loaded. How many people have it on their "I'm watching" list? (the new "my ebay" shows this number)

Oh, I've just had another look at your listing. The changes you made to the description make you sound very desperate, not a good vibe at all.

There are currently 8 people watching. There was 9 but one dropped.

She plays great. Good finger action. Alittle high, which is how I like it. The pickup was pretty low when I got here, so I raised it maybe a 1/4 inch.

So who likes dodgeball?

I never, and I mean never, bid on anything on Ebay until the last few seconds. Then I enter the highest price I'm willing to pay for that item. If I win it great, but if I don't it just means it's worth more to someone else than I'm willing to pay. One of those 8 people watching is lying in wait and will put in a good bid before the auction ends.

And that person is indeed Mobay himself. He is a seasoned sniper well trained in the art of catching bidders by surprise. PHEAR TEH MOBAY!

I wish! I do like the feel and sound of a Sterling, but I just don't have the coin right now to make the bid. I just can't believe that one of those people that are watching won't take advantage of this good deal.
