You should have considered a 3rd option i.e. Black Ice now that would set it off... I don't like swirly p/guards they are too jazzy and a touch tacky. I prefer solid colours, but that is my two lira worth... lol

I'd go Blue Swirl.

Definitely. I think it's a GREAT looking new pickguard. My decision was made before I even bought the bass. The poll format was just for fun.

CaptMoto: I agree with you on the Black Ice - I actually have one on the way, 'cause I know that'll look great too. Loved it on my Stealth. I'll switch 'em up every so often for grins.

Well, I have to admit, I was surprised by the poll results. Even though it was a pretty small sample, the consensus is overwhelmingly in favor of black. Of course I agree that black looks great, but for this bass, it has to be blue swirl for now.

It is, after all, Glamdring the Foe-hammer:

Glamdring was a sword of unsurpassed workmanship forged in the First Age of the world, for Turgon, High King of the Noldorin Elves. After the fall of Turgon's realm - the city of Gondolin, the sword was lost, passing out of time and mind for thousands of years, until Gandalf the wizard discovered it in the same troll hoard where Bilbo Baggins found the blade Sting. Like Sting, Glamdring glowed pale blue when enemies were near. Gandalf kept Glamdring for 80 years, and wielded it in the series of events called the War of the Ring - perhaps most famously using it to slay the Balrog of Morgoth.

So you see, Blue Swirl must remain. Now it just needs the Elvish victory runes, maybe along the neck.

Yes, I know ... and I don't care. :)
