Danomar,

How long did it take to recieve your pick guard??

I ordered a white pealescent pickguard for my 30th AV Stingray from WD last Sunday. It arrived on Friday. Maybe it is because they ship from Florida and I live in Georgia, but my experience with WD is that they take only a day or two to process and ship. Very nice.

Unfortunately, the new pickguard has the same issues with the one I put on my 1979 Stingray, namely the holes don't all line up and the neck cutout is a bit off. The pickup cutout is also a bit tight. Will it fit? Yes. Will it fit well? Sort of.

I emailed WD asking to return both pickguards. I'll let you know what they say.

Thanks for the response and sorry about the fit issues. That's frustrating. Sorry for not knowing but is the 30 anniv. SR a 4 or 5 string? Please let me/us know what you hear back about the return...sure hoping I won't have to need or use that info, though.

Based on when you orderd/shipped, I should expect mine any day since I ordered last Saturday and live in Chicago - a bit farther away.

I'll be sure and report out here what I get, when i get it and how it fits.

I called WD yesterday and explained the situation, including the fact that the stock 30th AV pickguard fits my '79 Stingray perfectly. The rep. gave me an RA number without a hassle. I asked about a replacement that would actually fit and he said that if I provided an outline, they could look it over and give me a quote on a custom order. For extra expense. The pickguard went out today sans outline. I want my money back.

I got smert (sic) and called EBMM yesterday. Ordered a pearloid pickguard for the 30th AV and a replacement for my '79. The cost? Including shipping, about $10 more than one pearloid pickguard from WD.

Lesson learned!

Wonder if I should just call Ernie Ball now and avoid waiting some more after I return my PG....

I emailed WD Monday, they said mine was shipping in the next couple of days. I'll report back here when it comes in.

That's it.
I canceled the order w/ WD. More than 2 1/2 weeks after ordering, they hadn't even started it. Lame!

Just got off the phone with Ernie Ball's excellent customer service and placed an order.
I'll have a new black guard by end of day Friday.
