Blue Dawn died

So while I was in DC this last week at a MM dealer, the helpful sales person informed me that ALL of the sparkle finishes have been discontinued. Even my personal favorite Blue Dawn. He mentioned that during the finish process of any other color, the sparkels would come through as if the spray gun were not cleaned properly from the previous sparkel application. Since there are no translucent finishes for Silos, Blue Dawn was the only option. I'm glad I've got mine. I'm glad I now own another discontinued color. I am sorry to see the coolest opaque guitar finishes discontuined. The finish is so deep it looks like you could just dip your hand in and pull out a fist full of glitter. Thanks guys.

Yeah, that's a shame. Blue Dawn was a super color.

BTW-Hamer a few months back also disontinued all of their sparkle colors for the same reason.

The stuff makes a mess in the paint booth.

GMP seems to be one of the last people using lots of SParkle finishes.

I was really pissed at first

That i had lost a vintage sunburst silspl on ebay. But then i ended up getting a autumn red sparkle with matching head and perloid pg off the rack. :D

I saw this one coming. Seemed as if every time I visited "build an instrument", another sparkle color bit the dust. Too bad as I always thought blue dawn was bar none the best guitar color ever that any manufacturer offered.

Glad I got a Luke in blue dawn
And a Steve Morse in Black sparkle

Thanks EBMM

Ex3.8, do you have any pics of the Autumn burst model? I saw one on ebay once put for whatever reason did not bid. Oh well.
That leaves me with a Lava Pearl 6-string EBMM JPM and, of course, a Blue Dawn 6-string EBMM JPM that I just received last week. Man, the Blue Dawn is awesome! :D

I have one of those. It's a striking color....

Never got a Blue Dawn unfortunately :(
I want another JP7 in that color

Which guitar shops visited

I went to Washington Music Center on Veirs Mill. I also hit the GC in Rockville where I played My first Bongo.
