So I got to Pete's. He, Nick, and WillPlay4Food were there.

Pete started wandering about the store, "looking" for the bass as if he didn't know where it was.

"You do work here, right?"

Finally he unearths it and brings it out to the front. With great anticipation, I flip the latches on the (very nice) blue Tolex case, lift the lid and find....

....a very nice dual humbucker MEDALLION GOLD BONGO!

Nice one, Pete! ;)

So here are the first few photos. I'm going to try to get some really good ones over the weekend.

Ha! That was a great gag! I want to see the picture Pete snapped of your face when you opened the case and found no dawn of blue inside. :D

In person, blue dawn is amazing! It goes from sparkly blue to clouds of purplish-blue to an incredibly deep blue then black. Even the back of the Bongo neck is bursted. A first rate job all the way.

It doesn't quite go all the way to black. Just very dark blue, with maybe a hint of violet.

I haven't even plugged it in yet. Just listening to the mwah acoustically is making me smile HUGELY.

Lots of new bass goodness going on today...Aussie Mark, Billy, and I'm sure Chuck is still grinning too.

Making people this happy must be one of the best things about working for EBMM.

the only mark/dots are on the 12th fret only? are all '07 LEs like that?

What Jack said.

Lined fretlesses never have dots on the board. I wasn't even sure the 2007 inlay would make it on there.

They do have side dots just like the fretted basses so you won't get lost.

If you get a blank plank, the side dots are where the frets normally go...with a lined fretless, the line itself is where the fret goes. The side dots are offset as on a fretted bass.

DONT SHOW YOUR FACE!

Ad and special thanks to your wife! I hope that you enjoy the hell out of this bass. This makes it really fun to follow this from idea to delivery.

Warning....if you topple it over you may bend the knobs.....
