So is that thick? I've only ever played an Axis twice and I can't remember what the neck is like.

It's a medium "C". It ain't a baseball bat but it ain't a yardstick either. It is thicker than a Petrucci but a very comfortable neck. I don't think you'd have any trouble getting used to it.
