Anyone into blues? I am, and I'm a big fan of Albert Collins...he's an amazing blues guitarist...he passed away back in 93 but his music still lives on. I just recently found out that on March 4th, Fontana will be releasing a cd and dvd called "Live in Montruex" which will contain a performance Mr. Collins had back in 92...I actually just watched a clip and I was amazed!!! So I thought of sharing this to you guys: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvtI0nGSVoQ"]YouTube - Albert Collins - Iceman - Live in Montruex[/ame]

enjoy :)

Yup I'm into the blues too. Albert Collins was indeed an icon
- I like the new kid on the block Joe Bonamassa - great player in a multitude of Blues styles.

Another is Sonny Landreth who although brought up to play in the styles of Zydeco and Cajun has a lovely blues feel.

Steve Vai likewise (when he isn't performing guitar gymnastics) plays a great bluesl.

I hope that Steve Lukather does a blues album (has he done one?) because that would be just awesome.

I remember going to the Harriet Island Riverfest in St Paul back in July 1990 and saw some pretty incredible talent there:

Albert Collins
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Joe Satriani
Eric Johnson

Albert's tone blew me away! Great performance!

I enjoy other blues artists as well...Robert Cray, Muddy Waters, Hound Dog Taylor and Buddy Guy to name a few. To me, blues music is the among the most satisfying to play.
