What I was trying to point out was the versatility of the 25th (with which it was recorded), and I totally agree with the guys suggesting it as a great guitar for blues (among a few dozen other genres!).
I've seen a few Super Sports at blues gigs, they're getting out there little by little! A lot of guys know me locally as "the guy with the Music Man"!
The Silos and Albert Lee would be great choices as well. I find the Axis SS to be very versatile with the coil splits available. The neck humbucker and the middle position with both humbuckers selected are great blues sounds. The 25th and Reflex offer these tones and more with the series/parallel switching.
Funny thing about my Axis SS, when I started playing with Frankie Lee, I was using the usual axes. One day I brought the Axis SS, and played a set with it. Frankie had no idea what type of guitar it was, but insisted I use it from then on!
Maybe I'm a little bit offtopic , but I play blues stuff on my JP
I like a lot to blend the piezo with mag on clean channel , it's a great sound somehow similar to a holowbody guitar
Someday, after finishing paying to the bank for this JP haha, I will get an Al or a Silo...but as others said with a good amp , ear and fingers you can play blues from any good guitar.
maybe the sound will not be exact SRV for ex, but it may be your sound
as an ex, not from blues altough: Satriani will sound like Satriani on any cheap equipment - I saw a few years ago a video on youtube with Satch man playing at some guy at home on some no name guitar and amp - and woow sure he Sounded like Satriani
