What do you use to clean the body of your MusicMan? Anything diffrent for the stealth finish? Mine is getting grimy, especially the back of the neck.

i use any guitar cleaning product, but i suppose you dont have to be as careful as you do with an unfinished neck. there is a ton of gloss on those bodies unless they're natural finished.

Warning!

In the late 80's or early 90's (I can't remember the exact date) I had my black/maple fretboard '81 StingRay refinished in white. The luthier was not satisified with the initial results and had to re-do it. The first attempt resulted in "bubbles" appearing in the new finish. He attributed the difficulties that he encountered to my use of furniture polish on the original finish which he said should NEVER be used on a guitar's finish.

I'm assuming that he was correct, however, more research may be in order.

Hey may have been making up an excuse for poor preparation (for painting) on his part.

I will go with poor painting prep.

The finish is sealed and EBMM's poly can withstand body oils, sweat, smegma and various dive bar detritus. To me it follows that any cleaning agent residue or any residue FTM that was ON the finish when it was stripped should've came OFF with the finish.
