If it is just sound and looks then I understand. I was thinking there must be something really foreign feeling about it.

Chances of me finding a Bongo 5 to play in my neighborhood is the big Zero. I guess I am going to have to see if I can rob the piggy bank and send Travis some relief.

the sound is a more "natural"

I think that it a big difference but I also think there is a big difference in feel too. I noticed the difference in the feel of the neck. The SR5 is "my" bass and it feels very natural to me. The Bongo has the painted neck and that was a bit of an unusual feel to me when I checked a few of them out.

I just think the Bongo is a little too modern sounding and looking for some people. I don't think its a matter of Good or Bad, its just not some people's thing. I love the way Ray's sound but I'm completely sold on the Bongo. I've owned 2 and have 1 on order as we speak. I almost purchased Travis' 'cause I'm so Bongo sick.:D

It's a very cool case for those of you sporting two basses at the gig. Just eat your Wheaties... :p
You the man. Having 2 basses around your neck at the same time! I'm not strong enough for that. ;)

You know the deal. Desert Gold/Tort Single Humbucker. Bass also comes with hardshell MusicMan case.

Due to ever changing "needs", this time around Im looking to trade for a good condition StingRay, Sterling, or StingRay 5. No neck preference, matching headstocks are a plus.

e-mail me or PM me.

I love the Bongos, I just think Im better suited to playing StingRays and Sterlings.

I have a StingRay 5 on the way, and Im gonna snag a StingRay or Sterling with the Bongo money. :D
