Did I mention that James is a Pathdocianbeeotch??

Someday, I hope to outdo the "Doc" by trading up on one bass that is no more than paperwork on Dargie's desk for a bass that is still on the drawing board. :D

This isn't the LTD...just a nice Graphite Pearl H.

Well, the thread that I quoted was only about the Ltd Eds, so it shouldn't have anything to do with Graphite Pearl. Are you Steve Muntz?

I'm just bummed because I would have gone for the Ltd Ed he has coming in instead of ordering a Bongo 5H that won't be here until August. :(

I'm not Steve Muntz but I do know that he ordered a Ltd Ed Bongo 5 that we have on order. A little pajarito told me.

Yeeahh!!

The B5 Bomber just showed up! I've got to say that Graphite Pearl w/Black Ice pg looks much better in person than photographed!

When I get home tonight, I'll run it through my Ashdown/Ampeg rig and leave feedback...figuratively speaking...:D

A big THANKS to Steve and Jack for shuffling paperwork/crunching numbers/etc. to get this bass to me! You guys go above-and-beyond!

Steve Muntz ordered a '06 Limited Edition (gloss black w/gold hardware). We have a Stealth Bongo H we ordered that's still available.

speak for yourself....three drink minimum?

LOL..I was speaking for myself...actually, I'm on a 3 drink maximum deal now and find it a tad low...I may push to see if I can get it up to at least 4...either that or get bigger glasses.

Bongo 5H Review

Well, it's definitely the badass bass that everybody here (that owns one) has made it out to be!

I ran this through my Ashdown MAG C115-300 combo and Ampeg SVT-15EN extension cab, with the following results:

Jaco-like precision with the mids/highs boosted and bottom-end dialed down; thick bottom when you reverse everything; nice, warm drive with a little more tweaking.

The neck is slim enough to make the transition from four to five pretty much seamless, and the control knobs are right where you want to them to be when you adjust on-the-fly.

And, as I've mentioned before, the Graphite Pearl finish is something that can really only be appreciated in your hands...photos don't do it justice! The Black Ice PG is the perfect compliment to this finish (YMMV).

BP, Dudley, Jon, and everybody else all the way down to Ursula...helluva job!

I'll do a review of my incoming CAR B4 H as soon as it arrives.

Sure is nice to have a Bongo back in my arsenal again...let alone two!

I couldn't put it to words but that describes it nicely. Glad you likey. The single H even makes my ba112 sound good.

Only 4 more months. Sigh.....

Enjoy it! At least I've got two other Bongos to keep me company until my B5H shows up. :D

BTW ~ for you John Paul Jones fans out there, the B5 H lays down a mean interpretation of his foot pedal work!

Just got through playing "No Quarter", and that bottom end grooves like a MOFO!

Especially when run through an Ashdown/Ampeg rig and hardwood floors.

:D
