Just start off by saying a big thank you to 'five7' for the lone off his Bongo 5HH.
Ive spend quite a few hours with it so far an gotta say i love it !
I cant remember the last time that i was this inspired to play, I haven't been able to put it down yet.
Ive never been that convinced with five-strings before but this is a five-string with a difference, the low B string is very usable, doesn't create unwanted noise when not in use an sounds killer!
The E.Q is taking more getting used to, never had a high and low mid before, its defiantly interesting.
But the best feature so far has to be the 'Pick up blend' !! Wow is that sweet !! , apart from the four different directions of the E.Q to play with, even with all the EQ set flat (center dent), the amount of different tones an sounds that can be achieved by just moving the blend is amazing, its the best feature of it so far in my opinion.
As far as EQ settings go I'm still experimenting an from what i can see Ive got a lot of experimenting to do!
I just thought id take some time away from it to write this as i haven't put it down since i borrowed it Thursday night!
Peace, Dan.

As the very happy owner of a Bongo 5HH, allow me to offer you my favorite setting: Blend about halfway towards the bridge, bass boosted about 25%, treble boosted to taste. EBMM bliss! I have found that with the blend centered, the monstrous tone can get a bit overwhelming, but favoring the bridge brings out the growl and lessens the hugeness. YMMV. Enjoy!

Everyone needs to take a bongo out for a drive. You haven't lived until you have.

These are fine basses - glad you like it.

I've done a couple of recording projects with mine - the sound is really quite different from the Stingray (one of the tracks has the Bongo doing a bass part and the Classic doing an added slap part) but it cuts through really well - that low mid control is a killer.

The only thing better than the bongo 5 you tried is the single H model of the same. :D
