Hi guys,
I was just wondering what your thoughts are in the difference of feel between the Bong5 neck and the Bongo6 neck?

I did get a few minutes on a 6 at NAMM but that was far too long ago to remember :p

and if this has been covered already, I do apologize somewhat, but I didn't start that thread and this thread will notify me better of any information :D

cheers!

Well, I just got my 6 (sorry no pics, the camera is acting up:() and coming from a 5-string it's a pretty big difference. I played on it for a couple of hours and went back to the 5-string and wow, I had to get used to the 5-string again. It feels weird when you first play the 6, but you get used to it. Now I am totally comfortable with it:D

I would strongly recommend one (if your interested)

cool. and as for 6 yes, I've finally switched over this year to playing 6 from 5. I've got a nice 6 right now that was 'gifted' to me and it's been really fun playing but ultimately I miss walking in to gigs with "that orange bass" and am wanting to be able to have 'Bongo' rule the roost again and was just curious as to profile , etc., before ours arrives at the store :)

Will be awhile yet before I can let you know how I really feel it. :)

What I recall from a little playing of the Bongo 6 was it seemed wider and a bit flatter on the back of the neck than the Bongo 5. I thought it felt fast too.

Ok I have asked this question abt 2 times on this forum already, but havent got a definitive answer. WHAT IS THE STRING SPACING FOR BONGO 6 AT THE BRIDGE??

So far everything is perfect about Bongo 6, but I cannot find its string spacing at the bridge. At almost all the websites it says the spacing is the same as Bongo 5, but Bongo 5 spacing is not available anywhere either!! Why is it such a big secret?? Such basic info should be available on the homepage of it! Im a 16.5mm guy, and want to know how much difference I am looking at? Plz a clear answer. Thnx!

*sorry for blowing out like that, im really sleepy n agitated right now*

17.5 mm at the bridge.

For what it's worth Myung was a 16.5 mm guy too and he's adjusted pretty well.

Then again, I used to be a 16.5 mm guy and am now a 19mm guy and will hopefully have a Bongo 6 bring me to 17.5 before long... so... yeah.

I'm used to playing a Modulus 6-string with a very fast neck, and I can honestly say that the Bongo 6 I played the other day was just as fast, and even faster.

Of all the versions of the Bongo, the 6-string is definitely the best I've tried. The body shape, the neck, everything works better on the 6-string for me.

Thnx a lot Steve. Actually I started on Yamaha RBX 375 which is 16.5, and have been playing exclusively on it for the past 3 yrs. A couple of months back, my friend brought a Kubicki Factor 4 string bass from abroad (19mm), and I just couldnt play even the easy stuff on it. Whenver I had to play on 3 different strings, I wud either mess up on the left hand side, or miss the stroke on the right. So got pretty scared after that! Thnx for setting me right, I dont hink it wud take me long to adjust to 17.5mm. Cheers!
