Slaine although we are in the same boat. Yours is the one that has to ride the boat but I am sure we feel the same.

I think ours may both arrive around the same time.

Ed wasn't playing he was showing us the paces.

I got more hair at my old age too.
:D

Cool review, I like the tones he was getting out of that H/S setup. I am really beginning to think that H/S setup may be ultimate set for me down the line. A six string bass would be overkill for me. But I would say never say never.:D

I'm a four string guy and even I want one now, i'll have to wait until I can get one second hand though. I love the jazzy bit which kicks in around 5:30.

I love Ed's reviews, I always check out his vids on youtube and his newsletter for bassemporium. He's one hell of a player too. Those bongo 6's sure look and sound good.

Yeah, but a dude in a cowboy hat, playing a Bongo?

C'mon, really.

He looks a bit more charged/enthused about the Bongo in that photo than in the review. :) I'm sure in the reviews, he has to keep an even keel ... objectivity & all that.

Either that, or this photo was after some number of martinis.

hehe.. after watching this clip from him i realize how lucky we are. mm 5 stringers just sound sooooo much better on the low b string!

YouTube - Fender American Standard Precision 5

just listen to the bass loose its character once he touches that 130 string :D

MrM

I know from experience that fender B's suck... the E string tuned to B almost sounds better on my jazz.
Can't wait to be a MM owner.

The B string sounds the same on the six as it does the five. I call bull on that.

And will state I play the B on my bongo 5 and will play it on my bongo 6

If I could play like Ed does I would also hire someone to come beat up anyone that said that. :)

Awesome video. Confirmed to me [yet again]-i want one. Bongo 6 HS pickups-color TBD. I love my Ray5, but the idea of having another EBMM bass that is a 6 is just so enticing. Good thing my budget prevents it from happening for awhile.
