Hi there!
I'm a proud new owner of a Bongo 6 bass.
The EQ and the humbucker/single coil sound changes are just superb!
But please, can you help me figure out a sound for my bands?
i play in a heavy metal band "Innergate" and a funk/blues band "Ministarstvo Metafizike"
and i need your help to tell me the settings of the EQ and pickup positions for heavy metal and for funk/blues.
Please be quick, and thank you for your time! :)
ps. here's a song from my band if you would like to hear...

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forums!

I actually own a Bongo 6 HS and play it quite often in my own band. Most of the time, I use both pickups equally, leave the mids and highs flat, and boost the bass about 20-30%. Once in a great while, I'll "scoop" the mids, dropping them while raising the highs and lows slightly for more "metal" sounds.

I don't actually play blues or funk, per se, but panning the pickups more towards the neck to some degree might be a nice start. Just a suggestion.

Feel free to go nuts - Bongos can pretty much do it all!

Hi BlackVegetable,

welcome to the forum,

can You please PM me in "our" native language, so we can easily discuss this matter?

I owned a Bongo 6 and I would do this for funk: about 80% bridge, boost the low-mids some, and add a tiny bit of treble. It sounds amazing for finger-style. But for funky slap, I prefer to keep the pickup position in the middle, boost lows and treble slighty.

Sounds about right. That 80% bridge is SERIOUS bridge. Just
in case some peeps haven't noticed, unlike dual-PU Ray-type
basses, dual-PU Boingos put the bridge humbugger even more
closer to the bridge than on a 1H Boingo [or any Ray-type ax].
So dialing in a heavily bridge PU balance is waaay pfunkadelik

..... altho, even so, it can't compare to the waaaaaaaaaaaaaay
overthetop pfunkadeliscosity of the bridge SC on a Sterling HS.
