Strange. I weigh 195 and have been running the same PC99 hollowpin on my MTB for about a year, no probs. Although, I'm more of a spinner. Can't stand the shimano chains due to the extra pins you're "supposed" to use every time you break the chain for maintenance.

You guys don't have engines on yer bikes? ;)

Just playing, I have both. With and without an engine. Two wheels rule.

Thanks everyone for your responses. This is the type of key information I was looking for (see quote above) and someone to stop the hijack of the thread (thanks adouglas):) . Well I think once I can get the money out of a bass I currently have for sale, then I will be seriously looking at a Bongo for my next purchase.

Good choice. It's all in the finish. And the quality of basswood. I have an Ibanez basswood guitar and it has too many dents to count. The paint is paper thin on it. Have heard nothing but praise for the Bongo finish. I'm a big fan of basswood. Especially for basses.

I've got a couple of MIJ F***ers in basswood, and with the urethane clearcoat you couldn't ding them with an axe, let alone scratch the finish.

This thread is cracking me up. You guys kill me. I love the bicycle chain idea. Why not chain the Bongo to your bike, ride around the block and see how it does. It bet it will stay in tune.

In the least, I bet the neck won't shift and the action will be just fine. Frets might get a little wear.

BP, any chance of a pre-mojoed line? I could set up a division here in Tucson.

Yeah, dual-piston, about 190 lbs, too much fat, good low-revv torque but a bit dissapointing in top gear.

Did someone try to hijack our beautiful MTB thread?

I don't get it, we've already established the Bongo ain't susceptible to dings, hadn't we:confused:   ;)
