I recently purchased a Bongo off the shelf (wall) from GC and have noticed that I have significant fret buzz on all of the strings from the 1st thru the 7th fret. I assume that the bass probably needs a good setup. When I searched thru the forum messages, I got the impression that I might need to add some relief to the neck. I assume that I turn the truss rod counter clockwise (towards me) in order to correct this problem. I am a little nervous about messing with the truss rod so any guidance that can be given is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

Turn it one hole counter clockwise or towards you from the playing position. Give it just a bit to settle and then maybe one more hole the same direction.

Don't be scared of the truss wheel at all and loosening is not something you can mess up.

A little bit (of time) could be overnight, though, depending on the wood. Do not fear the truss rod on EBMM basses.

Tom is wise in the ways of trussrods.

Tom: PM received. Sounds 'bout where mine was. Maybe expecting too much. Will get to it this evening and let you know what I settled on.
