Sorry, I never got around to posting a photo of the case. Here's a headstock photo in which the bass was sitting on the case:

http://www.bovinehost.com/79ray/bongo6.jpg

Now you can see that this is silver/grey. What else do you want to know about the case? The one for the Bongo fiver is LONG, about 3-4" longer than the case for my 35" scale Lakland, in fact.

Which means that if you want a different case, you're going to have to be very careful. Someone said the Bongo 4 would fit in a Stingray 5 case with some modifications, but I guarantee you the fiver will not.

If you have any questions about the case, I'd be glad to try to answer. But, as I have stated pretty clearly here more than once, it is my opinion that these cases SUCK.

Save your money.

Thanks for the pic Jack.

Although my Bongo is being delivered to Marietta, GA, I'll be shipping it directly to Japan in the EB shipping case without opening it since all of my musical activity is over there....BUT, at some point I'll be needing a hard shell case for it. Perhaps by then EB will have something that fits....

I was interested to see the inside of the case, since you mentioned all you could fit in the compartment was a pack of smokes, haha. Although that may be useful, it scared me to hear that after I had already ordered mine. There aren't any pics of the cases on the Bass Central website, are there?

I'm serious - the inner pocket in that case is TINY. I have one of those little Sabine tuners I carry around with me sometimes; that and a 6 foot instrument cable caused that pocket to BULGE.

I'll try and remember to get you a shot of the inside of the case this week.

I plan on getting a bongo soon and I was wondering what would you guys suggest for a case for it? Just get a high quality Gig-bag for now and wait out till someone(be it EB or whoever) makes a high quality case? any other suggestions are welcome

Jack, I forgot to ask, did you ever get a chance to try out an SKB Bass Safe? Does the Bongo in a gig bag fit into the Bass Safe? I'm curious as that's my main travel case and with a Bongo on the way it'd be good to know that I'm somewhat covered.

Pete, I haven't seen one in the flesh just yet. It LOOKS to me as if the Bongo 5 wouldn't fit, but the Bongo 4 probably would.

I'm using one of those thickly padded Tobias gig bags for the Bongo 4 and it works. The fiver, however, does not. The headstock sticks out!

Them fivers is LONG mofos.

hey guys, i sent musicians friend a e-mail asking what they suggest for a case for the bongo. i got a responce today with them suggesting a coffin case.

Hi, and thanks for your email. We offer only one case long enough to fit the bongo bass; the Coffin Universal Bass Case Product 543055 for $89.99. This case measures 49" long on the inside. The Bongo bass is 46" or 47" long.

does anyone have any experience with these cases?

haha... Think of the stark contrast of themes you get from a coffin case to a Bongo inside. There you are on stage, with a portable coffin. Everyone's freaked out. You open it and take out a bright orange Bongo. Hahaha.

A coffin case is definitely NOT in my future.

I guess I'm going to have to drag that fiver down to the local music emporium and see what fits.

hell, the case could look like a giant penis for all i care, as long as it's decent and the bass fits. anyone do any research on those gator cases that were mentioned in the other thread? I'm guessing qualitywise it's the same as SKB.

Could also try Modern Cases, decent prices and good cases. I've got a "light duty" case for a fretless of mine and have flown with success with it, it's custom cut though so whatever you get it fit for is all that'll go in.
