Hey Morrow, the one on Cunard st.

They have a sweet 4 HH there, but it plays horribly now. I'm not holding out much hope for them to sell it which really bugs me. They don't carry enough higher end basses (and other bass related materials) there. If they keep something like that hanging around it will likely just make them even less likely to bring in the goodies.

Got mine back today! :) 5 HH Carbon Blue Pearl. It's a purdy little thing it is!

I told Steve, (ya got to know Steve!) about the cases being available today. Hopefully they cost less than a Right Leg, cause the left one already went towards the bass.

Kevl...we must be neighbors.I always deal with Brian at the Stop.My Stingray came from there. The selection is limited but the guys there are good.About two years ago a little old lady brought in an old Pbass and asked what it might be worth. It was an honest to God 51 and they told her what it was and did not try to scam her. Some other stores....

Yup there are some good guys there. I deal with Steve Zaat mostly, but really like to deal with Larry Hall as well - he's a total gear pig, there's almost nothing he doesn't know about gear. I have a very good friend who works out in the new Bedford store part time. He's usually on for Saturdays. His name is Pete Paul. He doesn't get commission and is an all around great guy. He'll steer people the right way as well.

Now the Dartmouth store is a different story. I live in Dartmouth and I travel over the bridge every time I want to go to MS.

It's a shame Buckleys didn't move to a better location.. they could have been competition for MS if they had a nice layout and a good parking lot. MS is eating up all the gear in NS though.

LOL this was supposed to be about the Bongo Case.. oh well. It's cool to 'meet' a neighbor on line.

Do you play in a local band? I haven't been in a regular gig for nearly two years now. Sang with Big Johnson, High Din Zeke and played bass in Stereotype. I've been through several others as well, but nothing lasting. I started learning bass to play in Stereotype. Pretty scary first few shows... I had only been playing for months at that point! lol

Kevl...I've been playing in blues and roots bands forever.I play with Roger Howse, Andrew Gillis, and every Sunday at Bearly's with Brad Conrad and the Sunday Band.Another couple of lineups that don't play too much and sub in some others. I have also been known to play some bluegrass on the upright. If you are into a blues jam come down to Bearly's any Sunday...we will be there on Boxing day.Brad also does some surf instrumentals and light jazz.We never know who will show up and any night will have moments that swing from one extreme to another.Brad also plays with Matt Mays so there are times when he is travelling and we have other hosts.Danny Sutherland is a frequent guest on bass.

I'm glad this thread came up again, because I missed it in October. I didn;t know they were putting cases with the Bongos now. Of course I'm a bassplayer, and we're always the last to know!!

Hey Doug,
In case you didn't know it you can order cases for Bongos since you are a dealer.
:D :D Oh yea, you can also sell them to other people.

What's the current status on these cases?

I enquired today about a to-be-ordered Bongo from Bass Northwest, and they wrote back: "The Musicman Bongo basses do not come with a case supplied in the selling price." I thought I read in an earlier post that the Bongos would ship with a case beginning 10-04. Did I misread??

I had just read in a seperate thread that the retail price was updated to reflect the case in December. This probably is the problem here.

Well. it's January now and I was asking Bass NW about an Bongo to be ordered. If MM has updated prices to reflect the case, shouldn't they be communicating that message to Bass NW?

AT Least Include A gig bag!!

You would think that at least EBMM would include a gigbag with the HSC as an option. I have had my blue/blue Bongo 4 for over a year now....it showed up in a very nice box complete with styrofoam!

However, Scott Ball was nice enough to send me a free String tree for one of my older Stingrays, so I guess I won't complain (officially).

So is Jon. I was putting strap locks on the Bongo 5 and I lost the plastic piece that goes between the strap button and body.

I contacted him and 2 days later I had a replacement pack from him at my door in Columbus, GA.

I just ordered a Bongo from Chuck Levin's, and they had the updated (w/case) price list.

Think about it like this...

Would you rather havev gotten your Bongo when you did - or wait a year or two on it while they redesigned the MM case??
