Does anyone know if there are some dealers selling replacement custom knobs for bongos, like for other type of basses or for pg ? The stock ones are a bit cheap and sad looking.

Thanks alot.

Although the knobs do thier job, I do agree with MNF that they are kind of "on the cheap". I would like to replace them with black metal knobs.

 I'm no one to contradict you Jon, but the knobs really feel and look like plastic. Of course they work great, but I rather like the SR look. If possible I'm gonna change them.

I know what you're saying MNF - my chrome '95 & '96 knobs have a heavier, richer feel to them. My '01' black knobs feel lighter and plastic-like - not as nice a feel.
Still an awesome bass Jon :D

The black knobs are aluminum. The chrome are plated brass. (SR and Sterling knobs)

I dropped my Desert Gold Bongo a while back, hard enough to actually bend one of the posts (the volume pot one). Believe me, if them lil knobs had been plastic, I would have killed two of them purdy nicely.

What's wrong with the look? Bunch of picky bass geeks!

We never have these kinds of posts in the guitar forum!

What? You're telling me there's a GUITAR forum?

BTW, howdy Jon, I am back from my travels, at least for a bit.

Welcome back Bovine. We all missed ya. Dropping the bongo probably scarred you for life.

Jon, guitar players only worry about breaking strings all the time not particualary the knobs. EB basses are so good that there is little else to look at changing other than the knobs.

Question is are the knobs on the Bongo just like the ones on my SR 5? If so they rock in the same manner my wonderful SR 5 does. I can't play it enough or listen to it enuff ya know?
