I'm sorry to say that I traded in my Hum single limited edition buttercreme Bongo.I took BP's advice to heart and reilized it's just not the bass for me.I took it to the local music store, got a good store credit price and took home one of the new double hum stingrays.....very cool!Everything that frustrated me about the Bongo I love about the Stingray.I will miss the neck on the Bongo and it was , I think , a little lighter than the Stingray, but, other than that i am very happy.I wish I had done this before I spent money on the modifications to the Bongo, but i kept thinking" all these people seem to love this bass...whats wrong with me" so I stuck with it, trying differant EQ settings and setups .Eventually I had to just trust myself and trade the bass in.
I was fully intending to go and get a Fender jazz and be done with it....but they didn't have one I really liked in stock and the Stingray really spoke to me strongly.I plugged it in and it was love at first thump. So I just took it home that day.By the way BP...love the double hum Stingray, fantastic bass, it just sits there in the mix perfectly, no problem!!
I would post pics...but you all know what a Stingray looks like...maybe I'll post gig pics...if anyone is interested.
crap.....now I'm going to have to change my avatar!!
