Bongo design gotcha (minor)

The pots on my Bongo are crooked. I was there when the salesman opened the box from EB, so I know I'm the only person outside of San Luis Obispo to touch the bass. It has never fallen over or even banged into anything. I just assumed that's how they were supposed to be.

In 30+ years of playing, I've never had a bass fall over.

Let me be absolutely, perfectly clear here. There IS NO big deal. I am perfectly, 100% happy with my bass and with EBMM.

Please be aware that I'm NOT COMPLAINING, okay? Consider it just a friendly heads-up for my fellow Bongoloids to be very careful, and not to freak out if the same thing happens to them.

Which part of "I'm NOT COMPLAINING" is invisible to you, Dude?

Look, I don't know how much clearer I can be. I KNOW it's my fault that the bass fell over. Mea culpa! Mea culpa! I'm not complaining that the volume pot bent, even though it fell over into soft grass, not onto a hard floor. I let it fall, so any and all consequences are MY FAULT.

My ONLY purpose in posting this is to let Bongo owners and potential owners know that there's a fragile part that is easily damaged if the bass is allowed to fall over...and just as easily fixed. That's it. End of story. Don't make this into something it's not, please.

Strummer: So you're saying that the bass can get damaged WHILE IT'S IN THE CASE? Hmm.... Maybe this is what happened to mine...if you look back at the original post, you'll see that I found mine bent when I got the bass.

When I emailed EBMM I did NOT try to make a claim or complain about receiving a bass with a bent pot. I simply asked what to do about it.

Please, please stop saying that I'm complaining. I'm not. Really. No kidding.

I like my current cradle stand; plenty of room to set my bass in there w/o cramming the control knobs.

Well, I'm not going to lock the thread.....but I guess I have to say that I'm not surprised that pot shafts will bend under certain conditions.

IE, droppage, etc.

WE never design instruments based on falling over or falling down. IF yours does Im sorry. Maybe we should have had bmw include airbags1 ( Just a joke dont get upset.
