Bongo for sale (insane price)

What's up. You guys probably don't know me, I'm a lurker, semiposter, but I thought I'd let you know about this. I'm an avid Musicman fanatic, and I own a Sterling, and I figured someone here might be interested. I work at Guitar Center in Oakdale Minnesota, and we have an insane deal for a used bongo, which for some reason hasn't sold yet.

4 string, i'm pretty sure the finish is graphite pearl, but it is in excellent condition. A few very minor scratches/dings you'd only notice up close, which is to be expected with anything used, but this bass looks good.
We usually have photos online, and info at guitarcenter.com about used stuff, but apparently my store manager hasn't uploaded that info, cause i can't find it.

I'd buy it myself, but they barely pay us, and i don't think i can afford it.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone looking for a crazy deal on a bongo. (I should inform you, I will be insanely jealous of whoever get's this bass. If there was one bass in the store that I could just have straight up, it would be that bongo.)

Well I've seen the posts by Marty, and of course they intrigue me. I must be very dense though, I don't understand which comments you are referring to? If he reads this and finds a problem with anything I said, I will gladly remove anything I've posted. Otherwise, I don't see this as breaking any of the GC guidelines, as long as it doesn't bother you guys.

I sure wish I had 500 bucks and some way to get my hands on that thing though...

lol ... So let's re-cap ... is this thing used or not? ;)

Edit: i think i just saw jack's question about clarifying the used-ness of it after only skimming through the original post. Then I saw no reply to Jack's question, so I re-iterated it. Still good to clarify, though, even though the word "used" appears numerous times in the dude's post ... he could just mean "used" in the sense of sitting out on the floor at gc for a year, which *is* used, in my book. :)

Hey All...and Josiah!
I stopped in to GC today (I live 4 1/2 hrs away). After playing the Bongo, I HAD to get it...it was DEFINITELY worth $500.00 What A STEAL!!!!

And for those of you who asked 'WHY $500?'. Well...there is NOTHING wrong with the bass and the price included a Hard-shell case. GC told me that the manager was frustrated that it had not sold since Oct 08. They originally had it marked at $998.00 and marked it down to $500.00. That's It. It sounded and looked awesome and played EVEN better.

Josiah, thanks for the heads-up! Much appreciated. As a Bass Player of 20+ years and a HUGE Stingray fan, this Bongo has found a good home. It will be well treated....well...actually I'm going to SLAP it around for a while.

Also, FYI- So far this Forum has been dangerous to my pocket book...I've increased my EBMM collection by +2 since I joined. First a BEAUTIFUL AL from fingbeagles and now this Bongo courtesy of thedude. Gotta love EBMM fans/forumites!!!

Now if I could ONLY find a Deal on a SM-Y2D with a hard tail. Hint, Hint.
