any away to get my bongo H/S to eq like a stingray? for some reason i can't get that sound with the 2 pups? any help?

'Nuff said. :)

A Bongo sounds like a Bongo
A Stingray sounds like a Stingray.

Aint gonna happen man for so many reasons...
I'm going to make it easier than 2 steps

Step 1: Buy Stingray

Or the "quick and dirty" method:

1) Turn the neck pup down quite a bit.
2) Twiddle the EQ on the bass.
3) Twiddle the EQ on the amp.
4) Twiddle the EQ on the bass some more.
5) Twiddle the EQ on the amp some more.
6) Add a little goodwill.
7) Make final adjustments to bass and amp.
8) Call it close enough.

If that doesn't work out for you, I refer you to sanderhermans's fail safe procedure. ;)

The main reason you can't get 'that' sound is that the Bongo HS's humbucker is closer to the bridge than a Stingray's, not to mention the different eq, body, and pickup magnet materials.

But oh what a sound you DO get. Bongo gives you the bongo sound, which is unlike anything on this earth. The Stingray gives you the Stingray sound, which is also unlike anything on this earth.
