Hi folks,
I will have an audition for a cover band who plays mostly disco songs
You know, all that wonderfull(and challenging) basslines from 80s era.
I am thinking what bass is more suitable for this audition.
Unfortunally i dont have my stingray anymore, and i am afraid to bring the bongo because of his modern hifi tone.
Have you ever play in a disco band with a bongo?

I'm in a disco band and love the bongo hh. The 4band eq helps get the presence in the low mids to get all those funky lines present in the mix, My personal problem is having the neck humbucker makes it hard to slap. I grab my sterling 5 more.

Fresh slinkies...

And i auditioned for the band with my bongo 5hh and got the job

If you need baseline help let me know!!!

I could see a bongo working very well, especially with the treble and high mid cranked for those bouncy octave kind of songs.

A Big Al would do well too, as it has the same pre-amp, and the extra bonus of the Al is that it gets more of the motown sounds too.l

There is nothing the Bongo cannot do.

I would imagine that the Bongo's low-end clarity would be perfect for disco. Not that I've ever listened to disco.
