Hi,

I have 2 Bongo 4 strings from around 2007-2009. Purchased new.

Both basses have the pickups set factory. I’m real meticulous with my setups.

One bass has an extremely hot neck pickup output. BASSY as heck AND WAY louder than the bridge pickup. And the bridge sounds pretty anemic when soloed.

I can get a pretty good sound when I blend in more bridge. But something still seems off. Doesn’t sound as good as the other Bongo that I own when plugged in. Acoustically they sound very similar BRIGHT.

Also used same strings to rule that out.

What could this be? Do I need to set something with the internal trim? Not sure if there is one. AI brought it up when I Googled.

Thank you.

Have they always been this way, or is this a new issue? I don't believe the Bongo has any internal trim pots.
Always been this way. Purchased new from Dubaldo in 2009. Made to order. Last Desert Gold I was told btw. At the time I assumed it was pickup height until I compared it to my other 2007 Bongo. Totally different output on the pickups.

Sounds like a wiring problem. Maybe one of the coils isn't connected right, or an issue with the blend pot. I'd try emailing customer service and see if they have any suggestions.
