Bongo makes its 1st church appearance in a hour for a practice... we'll see what the reaction is & if the GK Neo 115 can handle the low B (at low volumes should be fine). Streamliner 900 head getting the nod over the shuttlemax 12.0 for practice

Eden Nav, Epifani 310 monster rig may be the 1st gig though.

Bongo HHp gets the call over the Sterling HH for the next church gig. A few Eb to play.

So in prep for a gig I ALWAYS EQ my bass to sound the best through the Direct Out into a mixing board into a P.A system. That ended up being
Lows: Slightly off center, boost
Low mids: Center
Highs: Slightly off center, cut

Those are really most likely to stay permanent while I use the rest of the knob farm more frequently
High mids: I really plan on moving high mids a lot & most often, cut for warmth, boost for hi-fi cut
Piezo: Usually fully off but up to 30% for some extra hi-fi cut
Pickup blend: Slightly off center in favor of neck pickup

So thats where I'm starting when I plug into my amp so I really want the amp\cab to shine with those settings. It may not be the ideal tone at my cab but the P.A tone to the crowd is the priority. Here comes the amp shootout

1. Shuttlemax 12.0
2. Streamliner 900
3. Eden Nav & 2400w poweramp rackmount

At the church the electrical situation is a little shady, a few things already plugged into the outlet thus the Eden is automatically out even though its my favorite amp (but is heavy so fine).

Streamliner vs Shuttlemax: I used my practice cab GK Neo 115 & the Streamliner today. Sounded good at practice but I'm a little concerned it will get muddy in the mix with the settings at the Bongo I need for P.A tone.
At home I A/B'd the 2 extensively and found the Shuttlemax to win out. I have the FET & Tube channels set pretty differently... FET with low mids boosted & lows cut & then vice versa on the tube channel. hi-mids to taste & treble cut on both. If I need a quick change in tone I like the 3 tone shapers.
The Streamliner I liked when it was set for hi-fi. Lows below 9 mid past 3 at 2.5K treble cut below 9! Extreme stuff
At home I used a GK NEO 412, although my favorite cab is an Epifani NYC 310

The Bongo 5 HHp sounds fantastic pretty much with any cab, head or settings. The EQ is so versatile you can work around any amp or cabs weakness.

Gig report with the Shuttlemax to follow next week & eventually one last review with the Streamliner 900 once I figure out if the acoustics will work for a warm amp.

Shuttlemax sounded GREAT but is now sold... $ for a Big Al in the works??? HA :)

The Bongo sounded great as opposed to my playing, the church has to get organized & I have to get used to a new place

Great tone, can do so much. The Streamliner & Bongo HHp 5 combo through a powerful cabs such as Epifani 310, GK Neo 412, ridiculous. Add a hi-fi amp for punk & its all over the place.

Loving this bass. The 4 band EQ is clutch
