The old graphic user interface (GUI) developed here in Xeroid land was called the Star interface and indeed used a mouse. If you saw it and then looked at an early Apple or Mac you'd swear they were the same. As a matter of fact the boneheads gave Steve Jobs carte blanc access to the Palo Alto facility. How bright was that. At the time Xerox was making so much money from copier sales & leasing and consumables sales that they couldn't see the forest for the trees. I'd love to have 1/100000 of the royalties for the inventions that Xerox didn't think were worth crap and never patented-especially the GUI, mouse and the technology behind the color flat panel LCD screens.
