Mostly due to bovinehost's incessant yammering, I've been keeping an eye out for a Bongo four to demo. (All the ones I've found before have been fivers, which I liked in theory, but don’t play.)

Well, I found one today at a local GC - a Desert Gold HH with White Ice PG.

Wow.

Yep, Jack - you were right. I need a Bongo. Bad.

And that Desert Gold....quite a finish, isn't it?

Glad you finally found a four banger to try out. Mine's a bloody hot rod. I pick it up and sometimes I actually think, "Dang, I'm good."

Which I'm not, so I know for sure it's a great bass.

I think I just sort of accidentally sold my last Stingray 5, the really nice natural finish one with rosewood board, so.....the hunt is on for an affordable single PU Bongo.

If I could sell (locally, I don't want to ship it, it's heavy) this perfectly wonderful Ampeg B-50R for a couple a hunnert bucks, I'd order a new Bongo (again).

Anyone in north Texas need a good practice/living room amp?

Darn it, Jack. I was secretly plotting a way to take that one off your hands without letting my wife know. Guess I'll not have to worry about that anymore. That Grape Ray 5 on EvilBay is taunting me now...
