Bongo Neck Comparable to P-Bass

Ok I want to order a bongo. Sight unseen, I played one awhile back for a few minutes. But the neck thickness has gotten away from me, it is like a f*nder P right? as far as depth from the back to the fingerboard?

Should I grab a sterling, a Jazz or a fender P to compare? I only got to play it siitting. So my hand position changes greatly...

It's probably somewhere in between a J and a P neck. The StingRay is has got the P neck and the Sterling has got the J neck and Bongo users have commented, me as well, that the Bongo neck lands somewhere in the middle.

So if a P is quite uncomfortable and unplayable while a sterling/J is JUST right. I could call a bongo so-so.... hmm.... I seriously wish there were some closer than 8 hours away...

I don't find the Bongo nearly as chunky and/or fat as a P-bass neck.

If I play a P bass for a set, my left hand hurts. I can play a Bongo all night.

I played a Jazz bass for years until I picked up a Bongo. I just recently sold the Jazz and actually prefer a "chunkier" neck now. I had to sell a sterling because I didn't dig the neck anymore.

The Pi'm comparing it tois an american P.... not sure how they control the neck profile but the should be all similar i hope.

Mingus or whomever, as far as feel, really how big of a difference is there from bongo to sterling? just a little?

i have small hands and own a Stingray4, Sterling, USA P and a USA Jazz ...

ive played a few Bongos at the stores and find the neck the most comfortable out of all the basses listed above. i didnt think it was chucky. i think its a super comfy neck ... but we all have different hands :)

She looks like she's got one sock too many, if you know what I mean.

Nice photo, though, for two obvious reasons.
