Ok here is the way I see it.

DIMARZIO - Dedicated aftermarket manufacturer and distributor of pickups for ALL kinds of instrument brands, their success relies on providing replacement pickups which can suit various players requierments which are individual to every player, i.e. hot wired, blues, fat, thin, twangy etc etc. every possible flavour. Therefore since their market share is in direct competition with similar brands such as EMG, S.Duncan, Chandler, Bartolini, and many others. It is obviously in their interest to disclose the specs of their products together with the specific intended use, for example a Slash Alnico ProII or a George Lynch Screaming Deamon both by S. Duncan which are taylored towards a particular intended sound.

ERNIE BALL MUSIC MAN - musical instrument manufacturer which builds specifically designed instruments, they use all their own pickups with the exception of a few artist models such as the LUKE which are fitted with EMG's because of that particular player's direct requirements, in this case Mr. Steve Lukather.

An EBMM bass or guitar is the result of a recipee of specific ingredients carefully designed and selected to make that particular instrument what it is, The StingRay, or the Silo are modern "classics" upon which time stands, one of those ingredients is their pickups and EBMM pickups will only work for the instruments which they are designed, i.e. EBMM instruments, in conjunction with their pre-amp circuits and wiring specs. To know their specs would be pointless as they couldn't be applied to another instruments, which is why you can buy PRS pickups and stick 'em in a Les Paul but you cannot buy a EBMM bass H humbucker and happily fit it into a .... ESP body and expect it to sound like a Ray.

One should also understand that it would be completely against EBMM's interests to disclose their own pickup specs because of the implications related to the biting competition from both the above mentioned after market pickup manufacturers and the far eastern ankle biters just waiting to copy the pants off EBMM as well as any other brand out there.

Those are just my views and of course I might be completely wrong.

High output
Low Direct Control resistance due to four band EQ.
