I recently showed my Bongo to a friend of mine. As he was checking it out he said "I love the neck. I like how it's painted but it's not glossy, it's really smooth. I wonder why more companies don't do that." It made me so proud.:D

Dunno how long you've had yours or how much you play it, but the back of my Bongo's neck (17 months old) has worn smooth and shiny. I've considered re-satinizing it with some steel wool, but I don't mind the smoothness so I figured I'd just leave it alone.

I just got mine in December and it's starting to shine at the top of the neck. I don't mind it either. I think it plays great either way.

Here's the best pic I have of my carbon blue pearl Bongo, along with a couple other Bongos that have passed by...

I ordered a carbon blue HH bongo w/ black pg back in December and I've been counting the hours ever since and worrying about my choice of color. Apparently I have another 3 or 4 weeks to wait too. But if it looks anything like your (Tom F) carbon blue bongo I will be the happiest I've ever been.

The day I got Aggie. No pics since as I don't stand still long enough to get one while playing my favorite bass ever.

Booya! Yeah, it is a real lefty. If that were a fiver I would have probably lost all my prejudices against Bongos (and the color green) and get it, but since I don't have room for another 4-string in my life, is still sitting there at the store.
