Would the HS combo be the most versatile Bongo, or should I consider the HH version? Comments on the pros and cons of both are invited.

I LOVE my H/SC. I can get a ton of sounds from it. Bovine says it is more refined than the HH. :)

i think H/S will be best? :p

then you can cover deep, rich sound with the H
while maintaining clear, crisp single rings from the Sc

btw you thinking of a bongo mark? ;)

Yeah, I have heard the HS is a lot more refined than the HH. Although I've also heard that the HH has slightly more tonal variety because of that little factor. Gotta say though, the roar on my HH is nothing short of disgusting. And I mean that in the good way. Like, it's so powerful, it disgusts and scares me.
