Bongo to new models?

How do toy guys imagin the bongo comparing to the new double bucker sterling/ray? I mean, take into account what you know. I'm just not sure if I want to hold out on the double pickup goodness any longer and just dish the $$ on a bongo... but i love the sterlings neck oh OHHH so much, and the bongo neck is just average but the sound is just THAT good....

Is the sterling going to be way better ya think? Dont even think ofsaying buy the bongo now, order the sterling later.... going into university I cant think like that.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Personally, the Sterling neck is as perfect as it gets. And though I put the Sterling in the case when my HH Bongo arrived, I plan to get one of the two pickup Sterlings when they're available. My guess is that the new Sterlings will kick as much ass as the Bongos, and it will just come down to personal preference. Fortunately, I've been a working stiff for long enough, and counted my pennies carefully enough that I don't have any decisions to make except what color to order. If I were you, I'd hold out for the Sterling.

cool, well I guess unless I find a steal of a deal on a Bongo I'll just keep playing and hold out for the sterling.

As far as color goes, maybe they will have a translucent canary yellow by then

If you aren't crazy about the neck of the bongo but love the sound and feel of the sterling then I'd say wait. I prefer the neck and the sound of the Bongo so I don't care how many pickups you put on a sterling it's not going to apeal to me that much.

I hate priorites. I have about $1300, and those new basses are gonna be so sexy and i know im gonna want to gander at the new sterlings, but i need to save all my money for a new car/car insurance.
