I finally couldn't take it anymore and got the Candy Red Bongo out of the case in the back of the closet, where it had been retired for almost a year.
I'm pretty sure all the signatures on the back are going to suffer, but this bass is just too good to not play it.
Played it last night, and I'm going to play it again tonight.
Bongos rock.

I think candy apple red is the best colour on the Bongo.

I did, but it really didn't work out as well as I'd hoped (user error, I think).
Doesn't matter....the bass must be played. I have perfectly nice photos of the bass with the signatures and all that!

Yes they do.....I have a question for you Jack. On your HS Bongo when the blend knob is in the center do you notice a tonal difference compared to the HH Bongo with the blend knob in the center?
