The Trick Pony video The Bride features a Bongo being played by Ira Dean.

You can view the video with the Bongo at http://www.cmt.com
That is if you are on a Windows machine. It is not Mac OS X friendly.

I heard he threw it on the ground at the end - but after seeing it, I don't think it was that bad. you never actually see it hit the ground. Probably hit a mattress or something.... hopefully

I still don't like CMT... ;)

I watched it on CMT and it looked like it hit the ground. Could have been a mattress or something there but.... I don't understand anyone that has sense enough to have a Bongo that would even want to give the impression of dropping or even scratching it. Then maybe respect for things is not as much of some's world as it is for mine.

It better be a mattress, else I'll track down that foo', stalk 'im for a couple weeks to freak him out, and then brutally murder him. Murder, I say! Malice aforethought! ... Sorry. Had to get that out. Whew.

He is a dang good bass player. Just too bad he takes that route with the way he presents the music.

And yeah must be nice to be rich. Something that will never trouble me I am sure.

One would certainly hope that he was tossing that fine piece of musical machinery on a soft bed of duck feathers, but s%*t, what's up with that anyway?? I think the Gene Simmons "tonge thing" sells the video.......oh, and the BONGO too of course (Lime Green 4HH...couldn't tell if it was piezo option or not)

I'm willing to bet that no Bongo was injured in the filming of the music video. It wouldn't make sense to damage the bass. If they had to shoot the scene more than once, he couldn't be standing there holding some beat up piece. We already know there's not an inexhaustable supply of Bongos in that style and color. I think either there was something soft to cushion the falling Bongo or some go-fer that had to catch it.

I couldn't get it to work with a Mac. I have watched it ten times now and say it was dropped at the end. Guess that sells but stinks in my opinion. Those of you using a mac to view, let me know how. I am not above learning from my mistakes.

TK,

I'm using a blue & white G3 with OS 10.1.5, IE 5.2 and Windows Media Player 9. I couldn't get the CMT version to play, but the link I posted above works.

I agree with Mobay on this one. There is no way that they would be throwing that thing down over and over. And they know that it's a rare piece, don't think they don't. Shock TV has come to CMT!

I just truly hope that he did not drop it and it was all trickery. Maybe Ira got two of the green bongo's?

I was never that fond of green until I seen the first green bongo and it sure does rock on a Bongo.
