This baby arrives Thursday. From the pics, I'm not feeling the pickguard much. I kinda want something darker maybe...like Black Ice? But I'm open to suggestions!

So, what pg would look good with Ice Blue?

I think you should go with a black. Maybe with a little red to it.

Yeah... that's the trick. Red and black. Great NFL colors if I do say so myself. ;)

Sincerely,

Your friendly neighborhood Falcons fan.

Dirty Birds...

I'd say a black pickguard would look nice on it...Silver and Black are great colors as well..

I ordered the Black Ice and I really hope it looks ok, now that I've ordered it though, I think black may have been the way to go.

The black would look good, but stark! The white in what you ordered will look better, I think. The White will break up the black and may pick up shimmering tones of the silver. Depends on the look you are looking for. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like with the new pick guard!

Well, the Black Ice FINALLY came in. It's gorgeous, but honestly I just don't know if I'm feeling it on the Bongo yet. I'm thinking that the black ice or black will just bring out the silver in the finish. I'm thinking that I would prefer a pickguard with blue in it, but maybe a little darker or some black in it?

Maybe like this? Any idea which guard this is?

I want a darker pg than what was on it, but black will only bring out the silver hue from the bass and I don't want that. I want the Ice Blue to shine since that's what it is.

I'm playing the bass right now (Everything is off of my Itunes into my amp)

It looks better in person, my pictures make the base color look white but its actually a ton of silver that can vary in color like a silver shell\pearl would. The blue is a consistent electric blue

It would be nice, I should have suggested it prior

So the sterling 5 I posted has the same pickguard as yours? It's just the photo that makes them look different?

I'm positive, even has the white black white, 4 ply edges

Looking at it all the pictures & then right in front of me on the bass, Id say my 2nd picture is the least accurate, it makes it look too white. Your pic & the pickguard heaven clip is closer

Honestly, you'll love it! If I didn't have it on my black Sterling it would be on my Silver bongo

Call EB and see if they still have a Blue Swirl pickguard in stock. Perfect for Ice Blue. Pictorial proof. JOSH

Pudgy... I unfortunately don't own either Bongo anymore. Sold the Fretless for the same reason we all do, I have no business playing one. Sold the Ice Blue to fund my roasted. Really wish I still had that one. JOSH

Well, I opened up the case to my trusty Bongo today and was surprised to see that I kinda liked the pg on it. I wasn't home this weekend any to see it and I kind of like how it ties the black knobs and pickup covers together but isn't solid black either.

It's hard to photo this finish and pg together. Here's an idea:
