Do I tell people that they can't play the newest or oldest Fender clone or rotten topped 7 string bass?

Oh those guys are even easier to get a rise out of...just call their burled tops "hurled tops"...gets em everytime. The Fender clone guys are way easier...just call em "kit basses".

As a new Bongo owner yourself Tom...did that piss you off??

Not at all brother, I enjoy the banter. I actually laughed out loud because here we have guys reaching out with their frustration over the toilet seat reference, and you just throw caution to the wind and post that great picture. Priceless my man!

For the record, I like the Bongo's unique shape (****, I own one), but I agree there is an uncanny (or should I say canny) resemblence to my throne. If only thrones were available in colors like Lavawhatever....... ;)

Let's all do what we can to keep this thread open.

It started with a young man asking advice on car or bongo. He got some help with that and listened to the majority speaking to him

Then he got the vehicle he purchased bagged on.
Then the Bongo his other choice got bagged on.
Then Bongo love bagged on the age old bongo joke.

Then we all started having fun making fun.

All in all very some kind of constructive thread I would say. That is if we knew what we were constructing.

IMHO of course

Whew!

This thread sure gets around.

As I have been told by certain Large Fathers, "Relax, don't let them get to you. I knew that everyone wouldn't get it."

So that's my advice, too.

Also, eat more fiber.

Desert Gold? Should've been a Dude limited edition Porcelan White.

Sorry, but I just couldn't resist

At least 4. Other than that, I couldn't tell ya.

If there are only 4 wouldn't that make them one of the most special of any produced?

I remember now why the color was dropped.

Any way I really like White on the Bongo.

thanks

There are definitely more than 4. I have only seen 4 different ones (two in person, and two online), but I think there were at least 6-8 in the last batch produced, of which my fretless was one. Feel free to parse that last sentence...

Oh, and my fretless Bongo would be the most special regardless of color. :D

I was thinking of it along the lines of its not going to be easy for tk to ever own a white bongo. 8 is a better chance than 4 however.

Well looking past you that is one green desert Dude. Isn't that the color of the one in your dreams too? I think Desert Gold was the preordained color for ya.
