Kevin,
this is more than interesting. is there a way to see pics? I don´t know if it´s okay to post here, rather not, as it´s non-EBMM. But you could post a link to a photobucket or something like that...
I´m really impressed!
Steffen

Steffen,

This board is a great gathering place for Morse fans (and AL fans, and JP fans, etc.) - but am well aware of the rules to stay focused on EBMM.

The collection is currently en route to me - and I only have pics from the seller at this point.

Once I get everything in hand I'll get some pics together and post them up somewhere that I can send you a link to.

Keith,

Pretty funny - and my wife said the same thing. She's been pretty understanding, so far
... But I just *might* be pushing it at this point (see next post to Joe).

Kevin

Kevin's wife arrives home to find...
Kevins Wife: Would someone please tell me why theres a poster of Steve on my bedroom ceiling?!

Kevin: Oh. That.

You're not actually far from the truth... there's eleven guitar-hangers in our master bedroom - five of them are holding Morse guitars! :)

Congrats! Time to spend some of that money (that's apparently falling from a tree somewhere in Illinois) on getting a pro photographer to capture your awesome collection for us all to enjoy and drool over...
Quick question; do you set them all up to Steve's spec too with the custom string gauges as well?
Congrats again and keep going, it's good to know these special guitars out there are going home to someone who truly appreciates them.

Wow your master bedroom is Guitar Center? Steve must have heard about you at this point, it would be cool if he came by and jammed with you and talk Morse's.

No, my "Music Room" is Guitar Center - have about two dozen guitars hanging there.

I've met Steve a few times - SUPER nice guy - especially to put up with such rabid fans, huh? :)

Yup - I *do* use Steve's custom gauges. I buy single strings in bulk.

And, I'm just glad to accumulate these guitars so they're not "lost". I mean, even on the legendary "Burst" LPs, less than half are accounted for - so it's easy for iconic guitars to just go missing...

The 46/50 that I recently picked up was one such animal - had been given to a gal as a wedding present - and she doesn't even play, just kinda/sorta wanted to learn some day - but meanwhile she cracked the nut (how?) and then took all the strings off. So it was THAT CLOSE to going out in the dumpster...

Wow i think its real cool that your doing this, and that youve chose such a cool lmited run to collect,( well you collect anything Morse, like i do Evh) but i like your idea of "preserving" these, i bet someday they will wind up in a museum, ( well,, there already in one of sorts!) i like your style.

I know Steve endorsed the Fender "Lead III" for a while, but don't know how much influence (if any) he had on the design. Do they have any place in your SM collection?

I always thought Joe was the Morse addict of our forum, guess not! Well he's more a Y2D guy.

yup, the standard morse is not my first-take. i prefer the brightness the maple top delivers and the simplier PUP layout.
don't need the 4th PUP and three switches....just one is fine for me. :)

if i had some extra cash left over, i would get me another rosewood neck Y2D and maybe a hardtail PDN as well and of course a blackburst quilttop with floyd. but not at the moment! a new Y2D is between 2950.- USD and 3500.- USD over here and the other Y2D PDN i had in my hands popped up today for $4700 USD!

I'm aware he was an early endorser, but then played a non-standard model. Would be easy to pick up just any old Lead I/II/III (Steve's was actually a cross between a I and a II), but I'm not dying to have just any old Lead... If I could get my hands on one of Steve's actual guitars, though - that would be awesome! :)
