Keith,
Way cool gesture on your part to leave it at Pete's until after the clinic...

fred

Might as well give the clinic goers a chance to play one when they're hot off the presses. Besides, Pete's a good guy and I don't have an important gig until AUG 14th!

Holy Crap! How does she play?????? Sound?
Looks incredible!

Just so the people going to Pete's Steve Morse clinic have a heads up...I told Pete to keep it at the store until after the clinic so all the forum folks going would have a chance to play it if they wanted. Figured anyone on the fence about getting one might like an opportunity to be persuaded by having one to try out.

Please be gentle. ;)

So is that when your check will finally clear?

And we appreciate it...............................:D

You're a better man than I.

I heard your next BFR will be just in time for the clinic, I'll be gentle...............:D

If by better you mean "possibly more foolish"!

;)

Wait until you see the torture pics we have planned..........................:p

To anyone who's about to lay his hands on one o' those beautiful new JP babies: Could you give a brief comparison how the overall feel differs compared to the old... naw, other JP model? ;) I'm still thinking about getting a 7-string, it definitely has to be an EBMM JP. And I really, absolutely, honestly love the JP I play now, everything about this guitar feels so right that I still cannot grasp how this new model could be even slightly better (wait - it's a Music Man... the new one isn't better, just different).

Yet the various BFR finishes alone do look so darn yummy, I know I'll probably want one (the red looks downright awesome). Anyway, I'd really like to know what you Ball-Maniacs out there think about 'em. I know you've got taste... :D

I can try and give my impressions of feel relative to the JP6. To be honest, it is very close. I don't know how the neck dimensions differ, if at all, but the only significant difference I feel is the painted vs. the gunstock finish neck. The guitar as a whole feels slightly better balanced but, again, its a very small difference. The only other thing I can think of is the lack of the slant to the body for your picking arm. I do like the comfort of the "slant" on the JP6 but that's the price you pay for the gorgeous top.

I hope that helps.
