BP reminded me of a boring qustion that i was thinking of the other day.

I am currently about to do my honours at university in marketing/international business, so that explains the boring question.

Does anyone know, company personel or otherwise if their was a specified plan of attack for selling musicman internationally. Because all (well most, because i dont know all) the people who stock musicman in Australia always talk about their struggles of trying to get musicman products from some special supplier in the U.S.

People probably wont even answer this because it is boring, but i was curious.

Rhys,

If you get a low response rate to this question, you can probably blame a lack of people who are qualified to answer the question versus the idea of the question being boring.

You beter get a good grade on this.....

Here is the distribution chain.

We manufacture the instruments in San Luis Obispo, CA. and handle the domestic sales and shipping from the SLO factory. Our international sales are headed up by none other than the forumite Beth and her "crack" sales team. (That is just a tension loosening moment because I can't goe fifty words without a joke. They don't sell crack!) About 45% of our production goes to the international market where they are sold to exclusive distributors in each foriegn market.
Those distributors responsibilities include the following:

1. Select the proper dealers
2. translate our marketing eforts and brand image to their market.
3.Cultivate important local artist contacts.
4.Advertising and promotion
5.handle all warranty and customer service issues.
6.Laugh at my jokes at the NAMM show's

If you are having supply problems, it is Beths fault. Just kinning. The supply problems are caused by our very limited production.

There are a few International distributors posting here and I hope Beth can pick up this thread and expound on it as I have to make coffee now!

Thanks Big Poppa! I think you pretty much summed it up. Ahem, I'll take the floor now...

We've got CMC Music as our distributor over in Australia. They are good about maintaining stock of Music Man by their foolproof ordering techniques. You should have pretty good access to Music Man over in Australia, try giving Carole at CMC a call at 29 905 2511 or e-mail her at [email protected].

If you've got any more questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to assist.

Awesome, thanks for replying.
May i say that brand image is very successfully conevyed in the Australian Market.

And usually your comments are very inspiring, nothing of the boring kind. Just this once :)

Have you ever considerd setting up a wholly owned subsidiary in any other place other than California?

Last boring question i swear!!

BP you can never have enough vegemite!!! :D
I will bring some over for the open day

I found a store here that sells Vegemite, but it's $7 a jar. Worth it, yes, but expensive nonetheless. The upside is that beers are only $1 here.

There are young ladies in the bars here selling inexpensive but top quality crack every night. It's not the type of crack you smoke, but I bet a lot of guys could be tempted and make it a habit.

Hmmm...wholly-owned subsidiary...what do you think BP? Shall we put it in Curacao or Jamaica? ;)

Personally I would go for St. Martin. On the French side near Orient Bay.

Hey, I've been to that 'clothing-optional' beach! The little restaurant thingy right there on Orient Beach has amazingly good food, too!

Yup, me too, I've been to St Martin. Long ago, but I remember it fondly.

Being bisexua....I mean, bilingual, I hereby volunteer for Sales Rep for Central and South America and most of the Caribbean.

Oh, and Spain.
