Hi

This may be a strange one...

I bought this natural, 3 eq, maple neck stingray about 4 years ago...but recently you guys have replaced the neck plate for me via my local music shop in Cleethorpes, in the UK. The neck plates chrome had somehow cracked and i have been supplied with a new one

I was told this is a valid number still for this bass despite it being 4 years old...and that eveything is the same as with the old number.

Heres the number:

E35324

What does this tell you?

Ahhhh

i just checked an old email i sent to someone at ernie ball when i found the cracked plate. It mentioned in it that i would have to have a new number.

So the new plate is great...thanks for sorting it for me!

Can you please just check on the number for me though?

Cheers mate

But can any of the moderators please check the date against this new neck plate number?

Like i said, the bass is originally four years old ish, so the new number shouldnt really apply to Mar 2003. The old number has been thrown away! So i cant check that.

Cheers

Movielife,

The serial number you provided does not show up in our system. I'm not sure how you obtained a new plate, as we normally do not send parts with serial numbers on them.

Thanks

Hello

Joel at Ernie Ball said this new number is fine

The plate is a proper plate, and has your stamp on it.

It was ordered from String s And Things in the UK.

Please advise me what to do...i cant imagine that they could just invent a new number and make a plate for me without you guys being involved. It looks great and identical to the old one...but with a brand new number

Movielife,

Indeed we have sent a new plate for your bass via Strings and Things.
I have been informed that the new number will not reflect information on your bass. Your Stingray should still have a body and a neck date to identify when your bass was manufactured.

Thanks

Ahhhh i see! I didnt realise the body and neck are stamped!

Thats ok then...thanks a lot Derek. Ive got all the documents and receipts for it anyway so if i ever do sell it (which i doubt i will!) then itll be fine.

Cheers for your help.

I bought a Black Stingray with rosewood neck about a year ago....so ill get the number off that as well and register them both on your site. (Believe it or not i bought a new Natural AM fender jazz and exchanged it for my new black stingray because the finish on the jazz was appauling...the black stingray is a beauty!)

Thanks again
