I love the way those things look. They're so retro and yet modern. I always described it as "the best 250 dollar bass you can buy", because that's what I paid for mine on eBay.

It was kind of outgunned at my house, though. I'd look around, think "oh, I could take the cowpoke P" and then there would be a super-hot Jazz bass right next to it or a sparkley Stingray behind it, and it was always being left at home, poor thing.

Really a pretty good bass.

Friend of mine needed a bass - he's really a guitarist but does some solo recording - and some other guys got together and bought that from me to give to him as a present.

How cool is that?

So I can still visit it if I need to.

BTW, a bunch of us always called it a Cowpoke P because someone said the pickguard looked 'vaguely western'.

It was all right, I guess. I bought it from a local music store as a "back-up" bass. Then it became a loner for people I knew needing a bass. Needless to say, yours looks a hell of a lot better than mine!!

The last guy I let use it put duct tape and electrical tape on it. He was one of those "punk rawkers". Whatever those are. Now it's covered with residue and what not. I'll get around to cleaning it up some day.
