You were using a Sansamp RBI for a pre? That doesn't seem like you... What did you think of the RBI?

Really?? I just tried out an BBE BMAX pre. I DID NOT like it. My SR5 didn't even sound like a SR anymore - needless to say we couldn't have that.

The BBE had a "processed" feel to the sound - Artificial sounding. Someone suggested the RBI. I think I'll give it a try.

The RBI does do some compressing but still retains the sound of the individual bass. The colour it does give is good too, I used on a short tour and when i switched from using a Radial BassBone to the RBI the sound engineer was overjoyed! He even prefers it somewhat to my Avalon U5... go figure.
