Congrats to the winner/eunic.

BTW No disrespect, I swear, but...Am I the only one who likes naked poppa bongo better?

And props to SteveB. Glad Luke took that one. It would have been great as BP's, but it's spectacular as Luke's!

What is this a definate, wow now I'm getting excited...you're a good sport for putting up with the like of us, especially that BP feller
Actually if I were you I would see if I can get him to sign your guitar, seeing how we nearly had to pull teeth for you to finally purchase one

I'm not much of an attention whore. But I will admit to liking the abuse from BP, Lucious, and all the rest of you! :) It makes me feel like part of the group!

Foggie yes you get a gift bag....I will sign your second EBMM guitar

I am excited to have my first EB merchandise in 10 years!!! :D
I got the email from Scott this morning. Thank you!

An autographed EBMM by the man himself! I'll look forward to that.
At this rate..... I have about 2 years to figure out how to convince my wife on axe no.2 :D The first one was a breeze. The second won't be as easy!

Foggy, nah it's really easy. You just tell her that you have (insert whatever pickup configuration you finally end up getting, when ever the hell that is) and if you have this model (insert 2 needed model EBMM) the pickup configuration is different and it will give the sounds that (insert 1st model EBMM bought, when hell freezes over) can't get you.

When you shoot for youur third, but I'll beleive that when you actually get your first, you gotta use a holiday, big bday, anniversary or something to make it hard for her to say no.

Man is car shopping hell for you man?? Because guitar shopping seems to be.

Ah! You don't want to go there! :)

Actually the decision process itself wasn't too long for the guitar. The moment I tried a Silo I knew that was the one. There's just som many choices!!! :D
But, I had to wait for the finances to be in order. The temptation to not feed the family for a month was there, but decided to wait! ;)

There's no hiding it here.
We share a closet. It has no doors! :(
Can't put it under the bed, because we have matresses on the floor.
Modern, open concept! :( :p

Fogman,

After you get your first Music Man, you will play it all the time and never put it down. Your wife will tire of seeing you with the same thing around your neck all the time (especially if you sling it high like Bovinehost), and she will INSIST that you get a 'change of clothing'.. i.e. another guitar!

I like that concept! :p

If you've ever seen the video for SRV's "Cold Shot", there's a scene where he's on the couch and his wife has had enough of the guitar replacing her. She takes his guitar and smashes it. He then reaches behind the couch and grabs another, then another.....

My son loves the video. The last time he saw it he said, "That's going to be you when you get your guitar, eh Dad!?" :D

Sure it will - tell her it's for her and you need to work out a song just for her on it. It might take a really, really long time until it's "perfect" BTW (the song) but she's worth it.

I like your thinking!
She's actually very cool! Sort of like you Janice.
As long as there's plenty of money in the bank at the time, the will be no issue.
But just in case, I'll start working her now!!! :D

Goodies!!!!

I received my EBMM goodies today!
Quite excited since it makes the whole guitar purchase feel a little more REAL! :D
Thanks BP for the goods!
The box of guitar strings will sit on my desk looking at me lonely.
All I need now is the guitar!!!! ;)

They should've put a little painted chunk of wood in it, so you'd get that 'new guitar' smell. It might've pushed you over the edge. ;)

I just took a wiff of the box (of strings you pigs!) and it's not there.
It's been so long I don't even remember what that smells like.

New EB's have a nice combination of wood, fresh laquer, the wax/oil mix and 'new case'. When you open it. There aren't many things that smell that good. They tend to keep that smell for a good long time too, especially if you keep it in the case.

Then, when you open it, you get the visual on top of the smell. I'm pretty sure they researched it heavily and determined what would be an addicting combination, and they hit it on the head perfectly. The only thing better than a brand new EB guitar, is another new EB guitar.
