Guitar legend Mickey Gee dies - WalesOnline
Wales has lost another of it's best guitarists.
RIP Mickey - one of the best in the UK.
To think you could see this guy play just for throwing some money into the glass as it was passed about, You don't know what you've got till it's gone!
BP - Albert knew Mickey Gee and I'd appreciate it if you could pass this news onto him please?
Albert's keyboard player Ellio knew of Mickey through his work with Shakin Stevens and talked to me at quite some length even though he hadn't met him.
Ellio had to work through a lot of Shakin Stevens' tapes and was staggered hearing this guitarist.
Carl Perkins once said to Mickey "How the hell did you play that (one of Carl's songs). Mickey looked at him non- plussed as if to say "well I learn t it from your record!" Carl Perkins said "When I recorded that I double tracked it and you've just played it live without missing a note!"
RIP Mickey.

If you want to hear Mickey there's a video link in the site mentioned above,
Mickey played with Joe Cocker for a while and the story goes that it was Mickey who devised the "Little Help from my friends sequence" I can't verify that- just another story that will go down in the folklore of Mickey Gee
