I use rounds for the open strings and flats for closed notes .......

I am having a FB custom made from abrasive material so that the FB will eat the strings rather than vice versa ..........

If you never use open strings, you can gradually shift your tuning day by day creeping back and forth along the neck by a up to a semitone and then back again, over and over, and you get no pits or dips cuz the wear is evenly distributed .........
