BP: Question on GC in PD

Hi BP,

I remember last year you mentioning Guitar Center was coming out to the desert by summer of 08. I called the PD planning/business license division and they have nothing on GC doing this. Do you have any updates? Will it be in a different city? Thanks

Yeah GC was planning on opening near best buy in Palm Desert but that was part of their growth strategy as a public company. They are now private. They have been bought by Bain Capital and the have stopped addding stores to focus on im proving the ones they have. You will only see a new GC if it is too good of a deal to pass up for them. Palm Desert wasnt one of those.
